To be candid, I don’t ship a lot of vintage shawl collar cable-knit made in Ireland LL Bean Sweaters. But sometimes I do, and I’m always excited to do it because I can count on a satisfied customer and the assurance that a terrific piece is getting a new home. Oh and this Pendleton tie, too. I recently sent Alan a pair of Galaxy-styled Levi’s. Sadly, they were a size too big because he’s been crushing it at the gym. So, followed up with this pair of Lee Riders creased in the shin. There’s a bit of history to that style. Read on to learn more. Continue reading
This guide is to help you find and buy vintage t-shirts at a reasonable price and for regular wear. If you’re thinking about adding vintage t-shirts to your wardrobe or want to better appreciate the ones you already have, read on.
What I like about Pendleton blazers is that most people would not think to buy one; heck, most people don’t know they exist. They’re completely unstructured, a heavy shirting fabric cut into a blazer with some patch pockets thrown on. These are the items I get most excited to ship: Something you wouldn’t get any other way. Oh and the chambray’s nice too. Continue reading
I’d had these boots in our inventory for quite some time, waiting for the right subscriber who needed them and whom they’d fit. Lachlan signed up in February, just in time for mud season. I included a pair of socks and a button up shirt to round out the outfit. And, of course, a pin from Iowa. Who doesn’t need that? Read the full letter below.
This guide is for buying a jacket at a reasonable price and for regular wear. I’m writing for myself, I suppose, and for anyone else looking for an affordable and interesting addition to their wardrobe.
The jacket’s history is well-documented, though, and it’s worth investigating. If you’re interested in collecting and in the historicism of the garment, Denim Hunters has an awesome guide to dating Levi’s jackets.
If you just want to grab a nice jacket, though, keep reading. Most links will bring you to a relevant eBay search. Continue reading
I’m late to the party, but when I saw Champion Reverse Weave Crewnecks for $99 at UnionmadeGoods and saw that Urban Outfitters had exclusive colors, I figured I should chime in. Continue reading
When John signed up, he specifically requested a vintage bomber jacket. To be sure, that can mean a lot of different styles. The A-2, for example, is usually made of leather, features a point collar, and two large front pockets. The MA-1, pictured here, was developed during the space age: It’s nylon, purely functional, and even reversible. He had another goodie too. Continue reading
Levi’s Silvertab is one of those many, many Levi’s sub-brands that had a moment and then faded away. I don’t anticipate LVC ever bringing it back. Of course, this isn’t actual Levi’s Silvertab–which had unique branding throughout, including a black rear patch. These are just a pair of Levi’s that have a silver tab. And lots more, too. Here’s what I wrote to the subscriber: Continue reading
It’s Harris Tweed season here at Comma Vintage, also known as October to February in our Hartford Headquarters. Harris Tweed is one of those things we’re always happy to ship because we always know we’re sending something worth the price of subscription.
We sent Jake this Harris Tweed Sport Jacket with far too much excitement. Here’s what we said about it: Continue reading
