Just so happens that Josh lives is a Connecticut resident, just like me. So I was happy to send him this Connecticut-themed hat. And why not throw in the some US-made 501s and a Levi’s flannel, too?
Hi Josh,
Thanks for subscribing to Comma, the vintage menswear subscription service! Here’s what you get:
Vintage Levi’s Button-up: This shirt is one-of-a-kind in my travels. I’ve found plenty of vintage Levi’s shirts, but none with epaulets and double-button pockets. Levi’s shirts from 80’s have a nice taper to them, and the fabric here is a little bit heavier than the poly-blend shirts more common of that era. It’s a subtly complex plaid—I like the four-pointed star weave in the center of the dark squares.
Vintage Levi’s 501’s: You mentioned a love of the 80s and 90s, and these are most certainly of the era. They’re vintage Levi’s, made in the USA (look closely on the rear patch) and the most classic style: 501. Heavy denim with a stone wash. A bit higher waist and straighter leg then most jeans today. Hoping they fit. I’m 155 5’8”, and they fit me well if a bit long. They should be good for you. Let me know.
Connecticut Hat: Truth be told my subscriber base is small enough that if you see something you really want I can generally make it happen. It’s made in Korea, not the USA, but I hope the graphic and style make up for it.
Some Tapes: You mentioned a love of the 90s, cassettes, and seem to have an ear for rock music. So I hope these fit the bill.
