Would anyone be disappointed if they got a vintage LL Bean flannel and a vintage Levi’s button up? Gosh I hope not. And glad to know that Daniel wasn’t, either because he sent us a nice note. Thanks, Daniel.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for subscribing to Comma, the vintage menswear subscription service. Here’s what you get:

A Vintage Levi’s Big E Button-up: Well hey, this quite the find and I’m glad to share it with you. To be clear, a big E on a shirt does not carry the same weight as a big E on a pair of jeans, but it’s still a fun detail and a very real indicator of age.  The shirt itself isn’t bad either. A nice plaid pattern in neutral colors with a single flap pocket. There is a small hole on the right sleeve, but a shirt like this, I feel, needs at least one. Made in the USA.

A Flannel L.L. Bean Shirt: My favorite detail of this shirt is the misaligned pockets. One has a bit of a tilt, and they are not in line with one another. A relic, I suppose, of a rushed or unfocused manufacturer, but a relic, too, of a less precise era. The fabric weight and pattern are timeless. Made in USA.

A Bowtie: Liberty of London is famous for its prints. Adjustable, silk, and made in England.

A Booklet: I found this in a ten cent bin at a used bookstore in Hadley, Massachusetts. I thought you might appreciate the illustrations, color, and subject matter.

Shoelaces: Full disclosure, I have a ton of these. Let me know if you want more. New old stock and made in USA.
