We shipped Daniel the ultimate in plain flannel shirts but made up for it, I hope, with a one-of-a-kind hat and some Axl Rose. Read about the full contents by clicking the link below.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for subscribing to Comma, the vintage menswear subscription service! Here’s what you get:

LL Bean Chamois Flannel: This is a pretty straightforward shirt: Warm. Sturdy. Light Blue. I get a kick out of the blue buttons. I can’t decide if they’re terrible or perfect. I hope you feel positively, if in an ironic way.

Pearl Snap Western Shirt: I’m not familiar with the brand, but my favorite part here is the tag. For one, “Rancher & Westernwear” is the least creative name for a brand. And the graphic of a cowboy jumping a fence I find equally straightforward. Note that the bottom button features a repair. Looks like the grommet tore through the fabric, but the hole was hand-patched. A pretty cool relic of wear, but I understand if this may be disappointing. Let me know.

Hickory Nuts Hat: This is a New Era Trucker hat. The script on the tag is a favorite typeface of mine, and the words on top—just slightly misaligned, possibly suggestive but also literally a kind of tree nut—and its bright orange color create a pretty compelling piece. Might be worth knowing that I found it within 50 miles of Hickory, North Carolina.

Guns & Roses Cassette: I know that this isn’t vinyl. Or 80s or 90s punk. But I also know it’s one of those albums that captures a moment and a sound like few others, and that listening to it on cassette captures it all even better. I hope that you find it novel enough to appreciate. (To be fair, I cannot test all cassettes. Hope it works!)
